In 2022 I carried out the project Requiem in Ørnetua 12 in Ålesund.The project was a site-specific and temporary visual exploration of a house from 1965. The house will be demolished in the fall of 2022, which gave me the opportunity to work freely with surfaces and structures. I am concerned about absence and presence. Traces and stories about lived lives, both real, but also what we dictate into them. I am also concerned with deconstruction and the perishable in our immediate surroundings. What do we define as decay and what does this say about us?In my work, people are absent, but their presence becomes visible almost as circumstantial evidence. The rooms also become visual structures in which to place our own experiences and stories.The project concluded with a screening for the neighborhood and other invitees.
